Matt "D" Dynan, is a native to St. Paul, MN. He has been playing guitar for 20 years and songwriting for 11 years. Although he started spending time in the studio 10 years ago recording songs, he will be putting out his debut album on july 15th. “The Majestic Sands of Time”, includes songs written over a decade ago to songs written in the last few years. “The Majestic Sands of Time” is a thematic album in that all the tracks have something to do with Spirituality.

Matt initially picked up guitar, to try and be like the blues legend Stevie Ray Vaughn. After about 8 years of real effort, he discovered he had a better knack for songwriting, and from that point on he insisted it was best to try to become the best songwriter he could be, leaving his dreams of being Stevie behind.

Once he started writing songs he started looking closer at those who already were established songwriters. Some of his favorite include: Bob Dylan, Neil Young, Ben Harper, Tom Petty, John Prine, Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, and Jack Johnson. Just like most people, he has a much longer list of songwriters and bands that he truly loves.

Matt can go country, blues, rock, and pop, but folk is what he says is most in his soul. Perhaps his greatest achievement is that he has found a way to incorporate meaningful and insightful lyrics into his songs that have the potential to help people to overcome the suffering that can be so common in life.

“It can feel like such a dream” Matt “D” Dynan And it can feel like such a dream This life, and all it brings Lollipops and dandelions, butterflies and birds Summer time and the 4th of July Collecting lightning bugs Catching frogs in the window sills Golf ball hunting in the ponds Happiness came floating by In a hot air balloon ride Seeing nature from up above Made me feel so much love Little girl in a pretty dress Eating ice cream, It’s the best Going to Bob’s Drive Inn 4 dogs and two taverns please And it can feel like such a dream This life, and all it brings Lollipops and dandelions, butterflies and birds Summertime and the 4th of July Collecting lightning bugs Take a picture with your camera Take a picture with your mind There’s going to be a day you want to hit rewind Sing and dance, laugh and play, Were going to go all the way It all makes my heart sing This life, and all it brings And how to cherish every day, Choose a path and go that way Picture God dancing to the beat Saying, if you let me put you through all the right moves you will not have to suffer anymore No more suffering, Yippy, Count me in, in fact I’ll take two, Hey Alright And it can feel like such a dream This life, and all it brings Lollipops and dandelions, butterflies and birds Summer time and the 4th of July Collecting lightning bugs

“There’s a Light in my soul” Matt "D" Dynan There’s a light in my soul There’s a light down below And it’s been a long day It’s been a long life too But I know I’m not alone I may be afraid, but that’s ok I know I’m not alone There’s a light in my soul There’s a light down below And it’s been a long day It’s been a long life too The children outside all laugh and play But for me it feels pretty far away Pretty far from a holiday Oh There’s a light in my soul There’s a light down below

“Angels and Butterflies” by Matt “D” Dynan Angels and Butterflies, The deep blue moon and the sky The gravity you defeated Is the same one that brings me down You inspire me to be a better person You inspire me to lift my head above the ground You look down as compassion It doesn’t even feel like you’re looking down at all I see how your wisdom is everywhere Everywhere except for in ego offness You make me wonder how you came to be How many days were you lost at sea Angels and Butterflies, The deep blue moon and the sky The gravity you defeated Is the same one that brings me down You inspire me to be a better person You inspire me to lift my head above the ground And love is such a funny question Cause sometimes the greatest risk we take Is not taking a risk at all

“The Majestic Sands of Time” Matt “D” Dynan Feeling the breeze, walking through the times Going where I’ve never gone before The times that we have, the times that we shared A white puppy dog going through the fog The lights of the night are shining bright A beautiful escape on the horizon A beautiful woman freedoms to award the songs of God Yellow and blue paint, the tenor orchestrates For miles in the sands The majestic sands of times Walks along the beech, sand beneath his feet The wondrous ocean breeze reminds one of God And into the sand of times the banjo player hums The breeze of God invites one to sing All into the microphone of the precious wilderness The children choir sings, all joyous miracles from God All happening in the trumpet sands of times The church bells dance like the wind And everything becomes still In the gentle sands of times The organ player weeps music into the souls The staircase winds and guides into the light of being The librarian reads psalms into the beacon The prophet writes about the majestic sands of times The majestic sands of times All the people join hands together and sing The seagulls flock in wondrous bliss All into the majestic sands of times The majestic sands of times

“Kisses Covered in Stone” by Matt “D” Dynan I’m going home and you are too The time went so fast, it always does I hate to say goodbye, but I’m glad we said hello And wherever we go You’ll always be in my heart Just like temptation’s cologne We’ll never be alone Kisses covered in stone The fires that we started, the ashes that we breathed The late night drinking parties and hangovers in misery I want you to know I love you, and I know you love me too And wherever we go You’ll always be in my heart Just like freedom from harm A feeling so warm Kisses covered in stone Hitting the b’s with the bat, I still remember that The pranks we pulled at school, man we were so cool Life’s only rule is don’t forget to drool And wherever we go You’ll always be in my heart Whether it’s up in the clouds Or just another town Just like before we were born It’ll feel like home Kisses covered in stone

“There’s Always a Calm After the Storm” Matt “D” Dynan Remember all those years When you could not shed a tear And nothing you did could calm your nasty nerves from shaking Well, this all too shall pass So take off your mask And remember there’s always a calm after the storm So don’t fright if the light is shining too bright Or if darkness is all that surrounds you There’s a light inside your soul And this too you shall know There’s always a calm after the storm And the crowd that sneers Is only holding back a tear For their mistaken freedom to misfortune And while the songs that you sing May not be fit for a king But what does a bad songwriter really know about good politics anyway And don’t forget to breathe When your’re stuck out at this sea Long after your logical mind has lost its rights for bragging In your weakness He is strong And don’t forget that you belong No matter what your convoluted society influenced voices have been telling you And as the pieces of your past Get shattered into glass Don’t forget the lessons you earned for they will bother you And it’s only a dream Although it may not seem At least its something that will make you feel better And you need to take what you can When the waves are crashing in And your whole world is slamming and banging And there will come a day When everything will be ok Or even better yet you might just find yourself truthfully smiling But until then my friend Take a deep breath in And remember there’s always a calm after the storm

It Feels like I'm Losing Faith By Matt "D" Dynan Filled up with fear, I’m about to break I knew it would be hard, but this is more than I can take Acceptance would be easy if you gave me one flower Instead of a message I don’t have any power Am I a gold nugget in your throne Or just a crutch you make feel so alone I feel like I’m losing faith And sometimes faith is all you have When your action alleys turn to praying prairies And your colored footprints only make you worry I Feel like I’m losing faith And sometimes faith is all you have I hope the promises will come true But how much suffering must I go through I wanna be patient, but I can’t wait Must I turn control over to fate Constantly creating imperfection Desperately in need of your direction I feel like I’m losing faith And sometimes faith is all you have When Sunday morning turns to Sunday night And no matter what you do you can’t see that light I feel like I’m losing faith And sometimes faith is all you have

A Minnesota Mantra” Matt Dynan If all you see is sadness when you look up at the sky Wipe the teardrop from your eye because Everything is going to be all right Everything is going to be all right Friend said he’s moving on, goona be all right Goona eat some food tonight, goona be all right Goona drink some water tonight, goona be all right Goona go on a run tonight, goona be all right Everything is going to be all right Everything is going to be all right Goona make myself smile tonight, goona be all right Goona do some Tai Chi tonight, goona be all right Don’t have to do it alone tonight, goona be all right Goona say some prayers tonight, goona be all right No matter what it is, its goona be alright No matter what it is its goona be all right No matter what it is its goona be all right Everything is going to be all right Everything is going to be all right Everything is going to be all right

“Angels of the Day and Night” By Matt “D” Dynan Angels of the day And angels of the night Tell me that everything’s Goona be alright Cause I’ve reached my fill I’m well over the hill This time My head is ringing like a bell I’m looking up at hell Again Just like the birds need the sky And the summer needs the sun I need you To carry me through When I’m feeling blue To tell me there’s nothing That I can’t do Angels of the day And angels of the night Tell me that everything’s Goona be alright I wish I could pretend But I really need a friend Right now I’ve spilled out on the floor Lost my core Just like before Just like Bob needed Woody And I needed him I need you To lighten the way When I’ve gone astray To stay right beside me Whenever I pray Angels of the day And angels of the night Tell me that everything’s Goona be alright

“Sadness Filled with Hope” By Matt “D” Dynan I’m going away, I wish I could stay I hope that my love will last I’m packing up my bags, my life must change I go where I’ve never gone before This life remains a mystery, love is all I see It has become to torture the one who dares to think beyond Life it seems, these dreams agree That breathe my depression through the floor Something is broke, to see the one By fault imprisoned without your glass In your eyes too it seems, love is all it brings Obstructions exist but aren’t true Will we remain veiled by the shadow of the light That shines upon our seeds Give me a reason, give me your time, Give me courage when the tide starts to hum Cause it may take some time to forgive The one you never should have left behind Love is all there is It flows with the brushes our souls must learn to guide In time we will see the tragedy Where we are and where we could be There is a feeling I felt once before I go because I believe it still exists Love is all, all there is, it’s all there will ever be

“What if We Were Just One” By Matt “D” Dynan What if we were just one with no divisions What if we lived as one Then everything, that we thought we knew, would come undone We wouldn’t have to worry about others And what they might say We wouldn’t have a need for anger and jealousy would go away It’s not that were all bad, But the truth can be so sad Like a veil that needs a lifting But gets so buried in the mud What could bring it out, Oh it must be love Oh it must be love Like Black Elk’s vision We’d finally be given If we lived as one We’d have chattery teeth From our souls to our feet If we lived as one We wouldn’t feel judged We would only know love If we lived as one How would it feel So awesomely real If we lived as one The cardinals would sing It would be all we’d need If we lived as one It would feel just like waking up from a dream It’ll feel just like waking up from a dream It feels just like waking up from a dream And It’s not that were all bad, But the truth can be so sad Like a veil that needs a lifting But gets buried so deep in the mud What could bring it out Oh it must be love Oh it must be love

John's Poem 04:20
“John’s Poem” Lyrics by “John” Music and arrangement by Matt Dynan We see the world and all its anguish and despair So we create our own worlds, worlds in which We do the things that we like to do And you do the things you like to do And I’ll do the things I like to do. To me you are a shooting star, I can’t reach A lily I can’t touch, a honey I can’t taste And your beauty is such That I’ll never be able to hold a candle to it And you do the things you like to do And I’ll do the things that I like to do. If everyone was like you, there would be no wars Or evil, or starvation, cause if everyone was like you This world would be so perfect, it would be utopian in itself In fact its inner beauty would far outshine its outer beauty And you do the things that you like to do And I’ll do the things I like to do. Give me the wisdom of an owl, the courage of a lion The strength of a Grizzly Bear, the sensitivity of a daisy And let me return all these assets from the deepest depths of my heart And you do the things you like to do And I’ll do the things I like to do.
